RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) arrested 43-year-old Scott Sumyk, of Red Deer, in connection to the crime..Sumyk was charged with Arson and Theft under $5,000..A total of 19 firefighters were on the scene with three fire engines, a ladder, a command vehicle and an ambulance..Fire officials said crews got in quickly and found the fire in the seasonal section of the store..Sumyk was taken before a justice of the peace and was remanded for his next court appearance set for May 30, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer..Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200.
