A recent poll suggests support for Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is at an all-time high for constituent approval, while support for Premier Jason Kenney of Alberta flopped as he prepares to hand over the reins of provincial leadership..The Angus Reid Institute poll found Moe is approved by 57% of his constituents, which is the highest level of approval among provincial constituents this quarter in Canada..The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey for the poll from Sept. 19 to 21, they surveyed 3,941 Canadian adults who are members of the Angus Reid Forum for the poll..The survey suggests Moe went to the top of the list and gained support because of the money he's giving back to residents of Saskatchewan.."Premier Scott Moe announced last month adults in Saskatchewan would be receiving a $500 cheque after the province delivered a surplus budget. High resource prices, including oil and potash, increased by supply issues and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, have boosted the economy as residents struggle with inflation in their day-to-day lives," the Angus Reid Institute said..According to the poll, since March of 2018, Moe's support hasn't dwindled under 43%, with his highest support number being recorded at 65% in June 2019 and 2020. The approval number now sits at 57%..In Alberta, the poll suggests views of the outgoing premier are less friendly..Kenney ranked second last in the poll with 30% constituent approval. The poll ranked nine premiers from the survey results. Because of its small population data on PEI is not released.."Jason Kenney is approved of by three-in-10 Albertans as his party prepares to announce the results of its leadership race on Oct. 6. Kenney and other UCP candidates continue to feud with Alberta Health Services about pandemic management and the future of the health authority," the Angus Reid Institute said..According to Angus Reid Institute, "COVID-19 handling may ultimately go down as a low point for Kenney.".His approval dropped precipitously throughout 2020 and 2021 and never recovered to pre-pandemic levels. In June 2019, Kenney had an all-time high approval rating of 61%. In Sept. of 2021, his approval rating was 22%..More recently, the poll stated his government received criticism on every issue canvassed in an Angus Reid Institute survey earlier this year which could account for almost finishing dead last in the poll..A margin of error of +/- 1.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20 was stated for the poll. Discrepancies in or between totals are due to rounding..The survey was self-commissioned and paid for by the Angus Reid Institute.
