One person is dead following a garage fire in Fort Saskatchewan..On Saturday, shortly before 2 p.m., the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a report of a garage fire in the 9400 block of 98 street..Crews were successful in extinguishing the fire. Upon entering the garage, emergency crews located a deceased person..The deceased has been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner where an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identification of the deceased is anticipated on Nov. 22.. The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigative Section has taken carriage of the investigation. RCMP will be working with the fire investigator to determine a cause of the fire.."Although early in the investigation, the cause of the fire does not appear suspicious," Cpl. Troy Savinkoff from the Alberta RCMP said..The Alberta RCMP did not release the person's name.
