Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park RCMP are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance to locate a wanted male — who has a history of crimes against children — for violent offences.Jason Trevor Hipson, 45, of Fort Saskatchewan, is wanted on the following Criminal Code offences:• aggravated assault• Using a weapon during the commission of a sexual assault• forcible confinement• Overcoming resistance to commit an indictable offence (choke, strangle, or suffocate)• Overcoming resistance to commit an indictable offence (administer an overpowering drug)• Theft of a motor vehicle.The victim in the latest incident was a women in her early 50s who was admitted to an area hospital with severe injuries to her entire body after allegedly being held captive by Hipson, who is five feet six inches tall, Caucasian, with brown hair and eyes weighing about 200 lbs.Hipson was convicted between 2005 and 2007 in Yarmouth, NS, of the following offences: robbery, use of imitation firearms, break and enter, sexual interference and sexual assault — crimes committed against a 12-year-old.The RCMP issued the information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief it's clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the convictions. Hipson, being at large for these new charges, is a public safety concern to all, Mounties said.Members of the public are advised the reasons for sharing this information is so the public will take suitable precautionary measures and not embark on any form of vigilante action.Hipson may be seeking alternate modes of travel or attempting to hitchhike.
