Gunfire was exchanged between a Calgary Police Service (CPS) officer and a suspect during an arrest in Falconridge. CPS officers were executing a search warrant in the 5700 block of Falsbridge Dr. N.E. around 1 p.m., according to a Wednesday press release. CPS said the officer was transported to hospital in stable condition. It added the suspect was declared deceased, and another has been taken into custody. As with any officer-involved shooting, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has been called in to investigate. A CPS officer shot and killed a man after being confronted by him in Franklin Industrial Park during early hours in February.
