The APP-Rebel News UCP leadership debate in Edmonton on Thursday night informed and entertained a packed house..Hardly a seat was empty at the Edmonton Convention Centre as Alberta Prosperity Project CEO Dennis Modry and President of Rebel News Ezra Levant brought greetings to the crowd..Only three out of the seven candidates, Brian Jean, Danielle Smith and Todd Loewen attended the debate. .Category questions included, federal-provincial relations, free speech, firearms, economy, energy security, food security, WEF-UN agenda 2030, education, health care and justice..Each candidate was given six minutes for an opening statement. Jean addressed the crowd first, Smith was next and followed by Loewen..Smith's opening statement focused on the Alberta Sovereignty Act, while Jean spoke about opening the constitution and while Loewen focused on how Albertans want a leader to unite the conservative movement..In regards to the Alberta Sovereignty Act Smith said: "When we push back against Ottawa it will start a new relationship with them."."We need to make sure that we stand up for the rights and freedoms of our citizens," Smith said..While Smith pumped the sovereignty act, Jean took credit for starting the equalization referendum in Alberta and said our rights in Alberta are "an illusion."."I would never force a vaccine mandate on anyone," Jean said..During the debate, President of Rebel News Ezra Levant, asked Loewen "How did Alberta flip from being pro freedom" with concerns to the handling of the COVI|D-19 pandemic. ."We needed a bull dog instead we had a lapdog," Loewen said.."There were a very small group of people involved in the decision making process, including the premier, and the Chief Medical Officer. Caucus was never involved. I found out about Alberta government decisions on COVID-19 on Facebook live just like everybody else.".One candidate's comments brought the crowd to a standing ovation during the conversation about the provinces handling of COVID-19.."I will fire the board of Alberta Health Services," Smith said as the crowd erupted..Loewen agreed with Smith that the health care system in Alberta is broken and changes need to be made at AHS..More to Come...
